like he already saw the name he put for Akira (Mon Petit Voleur ♥) and had a fucking heart attack and... oh, this is a song. At least they were right, Akira did in fact technically text back. Goro leaves it for a couple minutes, letting it run through and wondering how to reply.]

The sepia tone had the possibility of being a little much, but it certainly fits the song's mood. It's a recollection of something that happened in the past, something regretful, and the song's lyrics more than imply her want to reconnect... for closure's sake.

The video shows memories that span across the years they've been parted. It's very well done, in my opinion, showing not just the good times but the frustrating ones as well. Her boyfriend's moved on though... which is good for him. Lingering on regrets like that isn't healthy; I know more than anyone. It's a very powerful song.

I think it's a rather cruel song to send me after all that, honestly, but I'll forgive you for it... as long as you consider forgiving me for what I said. I shouldn't have decided your feelings for you, no matter my thoughts.

goro, how did you become a detective?

sorry for the sudden question, I've just been wondering...

It's fine. I don't mind answering either, though I can't say it's a very exciting story.

[... Sort of childish, really.]

I've always loved detective fiction. I saw them as rather heroic figures, the brains to the police's brawn, and the ones in particular I ended up picking up due to my aunt's collection of literature were more of private eyes than those working with the police. Ones that lived comfortably already, that only picked up cases of personal interest.

(This included the infamous gentleman thief Lupin as well, actually, who strove to liberate both jewels wrongfully owned and people from their places in houses and society. I quite like him a lot.)

So I wished to join their ranks of brilliance, of recognition, and... in hopes of finding someone. That person could very well be dead for all I know, they're not in this city nor even in the country to my knowledge, but it was a hope I had when I was younger and immersed in the world of seemingly unsolvable mysteries. It's something I think about every now and then, but I'm content with simply helping others find out the truth of matters, to bring forward injustices no matter the manner. I did quite a bit of work for the people living around my mother and I.

As for the actual becoming of a detective, it's nothing like someone else I know. I'm not exactly officiate nor working for the police; it's more of a hobby, unfortunately. But I am part of an agency now, run by myself and Miss Elizabeth Velveteen, who acts as my assistant when cases -- most often small -- arise. Its purpose is to simply take on things that people may feel is beneath the radar for the police and things relating to Retrospec while training those that may wish to follow the same path... since being a private investigator tends to be quite the lonely profession.

2. Normally, one would refer to them by their full and proper name; for example, a goddess even you would know would be Amaterasu, yes? Her proper name is Amaterasu-Omikami, meaning "The Great Divinity Illuminating Heaven". If you don't know their proper name, however, -sama would work well enough as an honorific.

I do like them, though they're not my favorite thing to eat in the mornings... I find they get soggy too quickly with my preferred amount of syrup.
Waffles and french toast hold up much better (though not by much with the latter unless one uses thick slices of bread).
